“Queer Eye’s” Bobby Berk and Karamo Brown Receive Emmy Nominations for Outstanding Hosts in a Reality Competition Program
ICM Partners is pleased to congratulate our clients Karamo Brown and Bobby Berk on their Emmy Nominations.
As the culture expert and the design expert (respectively) on Netflix’s hugely popular reality program Queer Eye: More Than a Makeover, Brown and Berk, along with the show’s three other hosts, have received their first nomination in the category for Outstanding Hosts in a Reality or Competition Program.
The television personalities recently spoke with People Magazine, sharing their excitement over their nomination and hopes of celebrating a win, despite the virtual ceremony taking place this year.
“It feels amazing to be recognized in this category,” Brown said. “The other guys are too sweet to say it, but the five of us want this Emmy! We want to win and I have a place for it already so I’m very excited about this.”
“It will feel really good this year for the five of us to finally walk home with an Emmy in our hands,” Berk added. “Or be at home and wait to get an Emmy in the mail, as is what will happen this year.”
“Anyway you can receive it is a blessing. I’ll take it at home in my underwear,” Brown followed up.
Queer Eye: More Than a Makeover received a total of seven Emmy nominations this year, the most it has received in a single year since its Netflix debut in 2018. The other categories include Outstanding Production Design for a Variety, Reality, or Competition Series, Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program, Outstanding Structured Reality Program, Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program, and Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program. The structured reality program has previously won eight Emmy awards and was recently picked up for a sixth season.
