Regina King and Catherine O’Hara Honored in Variety’s 2020 L.A. Women’s Impact Report
Variety released their annual list honoring the most impactful women in Los Angeles. ICM Partners is pleased to congratulate our clients, Regina King and Catherine O’Hara for their recognition on this year’s L.A. Women’s Impact Report.
“There are normal mid-career Hollywood renaissances, and then there’s whatever you call [Regina] King’s past half-decade,” the publication wrote in reference to the incredibly prolific and singular career King has had since she began acting in the 1980’s. In this past year alone, King made history as the first African American female director to premiere a feature film at the Venice Film Festival. One Night in Miami, which also marks King’s feature film directorial debut, is already receiving Oscar buzz. It will have a limited Christmas release before hitting Amazon Prime in January. King also added to her growing list of awards (including one Oscar and two Golden Globe awards among many others) when she received her fourth Emmy Award for her lead role in HBO’s Watchmen.
Though Catherine O’Hara told Variety that her biggest achievement of the year was voting, many will remember that the Schitt’s Creek actress won an Emmy award for lead actress in a comedy series. “My name was read, and that was the beginning of a crazy, dreamy, are-we-making-this-up, night of happy tears and fearless embraces,” O’Hara recalled. The 2020 Emmy awards, nicknamed Schitt’s Sweep, was a truly eventful, record-breaking night for the Pop TV sitcom. The show took home the award for every category it was nominated in, marking a total of 15 wins.
Congratulations to Regina King and Catherine O’Hara. We are proud to represent these impactful women!
