Spotlight on Kathy Bates – An ICM Partners’ Jewel

ICM Partners is proud to recognize Kathy Bates’ well-deserved Oscar nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.

The seasoned actress was nominated for her role in Richard Jewell, in which she plays Bobbi Jewell, the mother of the Atlanta security guard falsely accused of planting the bomb during the 1996 Olympic Games. It was a moving performance that also garnered Bates a win for Best Supporting Actress from the National Board of Review and a Golden Globe nomination.

This most recent Academy Award nomination is the fourth for the Memphis, TN born actress, who was previously nominated for her roles in About Schmidt (2003), Primary Colors (1999), and Misery (1990), for which she won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

In her iconic career, Bates has also received critical success for her role on the television series American Horror Story, for which she has also garnered numerous Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy Award.

We wish Bates the best of luck ahead of the 92nd Academy Awards, which airs live on February 9th, 2020.
