Tracy Oliver Series Gets Series Order from Amazon Studios
Amazon Studios has ordered ten episodes from ICM Partners client Tracy Oliver for her latest endeavor, a female-centric, half-hour comedy. The series will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video to a global audience of more than 200 countries.
Oliver will write, direct, and executive produce the untitled project along with Paper Kite’s Amy Poehler and Kim Lessing. Amazon Studios and Universal Television will also produce in association with the team from Paper Kite Productions.
“This series is a dream project for me,” said Oliver. “I found the perfect partners in Amy Poehler, Amazon Studios and Universal, who have championed this project from the beginning. I can’t wait to get started and share the story of these four women navigating the complexities of adulthood through their unbreakable friendship.”
Oliver has been busy since her hugely successful film “Girls Trip” took in over $100 million at the box office in 2017. She penned the adaptation of this year’s, “The Sun is Also a Star,” and has a number of feature films in the works, including a project for Warner Bros., “Survive the Night,” a music-themed thriller that will see Oliver in the director’s chair; she is also the creator, executive producer, and director of BET’s television adaptation of “The First Wives Club.
